These easy paper pumpkins are a fun fall craft. You can make so many cool things with them, decorating for fall, Halloween, or winter–so cool!
If you’re looking for some great papercraft activities for kids, this paper pumpkin craft can seriously be fun to make and turn into some fun fall decor.
There are so many fun ways you can make this easy pumpkin craft your own. Swap out the green construction paper for some patterned paper or even a green pipe cleaner! Use a stick from outside for the pumpkin stem.
You could even cut shapes out of black paper and now you have an easy Halloween craft!
Whatever you decide you do, kids of all ages will love to make this paper pumpkin craft, it is 1 of my more simple paper crafts and it is excellent for developing fine motor skills, so it’s perfect for the preschool classroom.
My paper pumpkin template is free for personal use. You may never share or sell the files found on Color Me Crafty. I make all of my designs in a way that they can be scaled. So if you want to make a larger pumpkin just group all of the pieces and make them all larger at the same time.
Easy Paper Pumpkin Craft
And, as I said, you don’t have to limit your pumpkins to being just fall decorations. You can use them to make winter decorations with white pumpkins or Halloween decorations by drawing jack-o-lantern faces on some of the pumpkins.
You can also size them up or down, depending on what you’d like to do with your pumpkins. Seriously, you could have teeny tiny pumpkins or gigantic pumpkins with this free pumpkin SVG. Super easy, pumpkin squeezy.

How to Make this Easy Paper Pumpkin Craft
No Cutting Machine
- If you’re not making easy paper pumpkins with a cutting machine, just print the PDF and cut out pieces to the pumpkin to use as a stencil. With that, trace, then cut out your card stock in the colors you want the pumpkin to be.
- You will need to cut at least 4 of whichever size or sizes you want to make, but you can definitely do more.
For Cutting Machines
- As always, start by downloading the free cut files, then uploading them to your cutting machine software (Silhouette Studio or Cricut Design Space, that kind of thing) and resize or recolor as desired.
- You will need to cut at least 4 of whichever size or sizes you want to make, but you can definitely do more.
Finishing up your Paper Pumpkins
- The round pieces with flat bottoms are for the pumpkin, the completely round are the leaves, the square is for the stem.
- Fold the pieces down the middle, all except the stem.
- For the pumpkin you are going to glue with a glue pen or dot runner, wrong sides together, continue this process until you have the fullness you want.
- Cut off a piece of your stem and tightly roll, and glue closed.
- Glue to the top of the pumpkin (flat side is the bottom).
- Glue the leaves onto the top edges of the pumpkin.
- Optional: glue a pipe cleaner to the stem and twist it like a vine or tie a ribbon on the stem.
How to Decorate with Paper Pumpkins
You can make so many fun things with these Cricut pumpkins. I seriously can’t think of any more fun things to decorate with than pumpkins. So, here’s what I plan to make:
- Pumpkin Garland (just pop a small hole in each pumpkin and slide a string through them all)
- Pumpkin Paper Wreath
- Tiny pumpkin craft for kids–like making a pumpkin scene they can play with with paper strips for hay
So much fun, right?! Perfect decor for fall, if you ask me. If you love this quick paper pumpkin tutorial, be sure to pin it to your favorite Cricut crafts board on Pinterest so you can find it quick when you’re ready to make more little pumpkins!
