If you are wanting to learn how to do a full sublimation tumbler wrap then you are in the right place. In this video tutorial, you will learn how to use an Air Fryer, or you can also use a convection oven to make your own stainless steel tumbler.
We had an old Air Fryer that was a space guzzler, so I took it to the craft room to use for my skinny sublimation tumblers. It worked out perfectly for using sublimation transfers on cups.
How do you wrap a sublimation tumbler?
Sublimation mugs and tumblers should be wrapped and taped tightly. To make sure my wraps are tight I like to tape tightly with heat resistant tape and then use a shrink wrap sleeve to make the transfer fit as tight as possible.
What is the best way to sublimate tumblers?
I don’t think there is the best way, to sublimate tumblers as far as heat elements. I have used my Air Fryer, A Tumbler press, and even the Cricut Mug Press to sub on blank tumblers. The Cricut mug press is a little more work but it does get the job done.
When I use the Cricut Mug Press to sublimate, I do use a heat gun on my shrink wrap, but when I use the Air Fryer I just slide it on and then put it into the fryer for sublimation printing. The heat will shrink it.
How do you stop Ghosting sublimation tumblers?
To help prevent ghosting on your design, you have to make sure that your printed sublimation sheet doesn’t move. Whether you are using ceramic mugs, skinny straight sublimation tumblers, t-shirts, or something else, you need to make sure that your wrap is completely secure.
Do you seal sublimation tumblers?
No, no need to seal any type of sublimation blank. They have a special coating on them, so as long as you use the correct time and temp instructions for the specific sublimation blank that you are using then the design will last forever!
Can I Use Cricut Infusible Ink on a blank sublimation tumbler?
You sure can. Infusible Ink is a pre-printed sublimation sheet (the infusible ink transfer sheet) or markers. So if you don’t have a sublimation printer then this is the perfect solution for you.
Lastly, whatever you use for your designs, you want to make sure that they are png files. And also make sure that it is a transparent template.

Full Wrap Sublimation Skinny Tumbler Tutorial | Video

Materials
- Pink and Gold Sublimation Wrap or
- Other Skinny Sublimation Template
- Skinny Tumbler
- Sublimation Paper
- Heat Gloves
- Shrink Wrap
- Font
Instructions
- Preheat the Air Fryer at 400 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Using sublimation paper and sublimation ink, print out your design. Make sure that high speed is off so that it doesn't print out too fast.
- Once it has been printed allow it a couple of minutes to make sure it is completely dry. In the meantime clean your tumbler.
- Cut 1 side of your design right up against the design, removing all of the white from the print.
- Start wrapping with the side you cut touching the tumbler.
- Wrap the tumbler tightly making sure to carefully do so, so that your design stays straight.
- Wrap tightly and secure with heat tape, while making sure to keep it tight. I like to wrap the middle first so that I can make sure that everything else is tight.
- Tape down the seam starting in the middle.
- Now press with your thumb to get out any creases and folds. Cut off the excess on the top and bottom, and then tape down in the same direction that you wrapped the tumbler. Stretch and pull the tape so that the remaining paper stretches over the edge.
- Put a shrink wrap on the tumbler, or you can use a silicone wrap. Place into your Air fryer or convection oven for 6 minutes turning halfway through. No need to drink it, the heat from the air fryer will shrink it for you.
- When the time is up, pull it out and allow it to cool completely.
- Remove the paper and if you have any white residue just wipe it away using a baby wipe.
- Now you have a high quality full wrap tumbler that you made yourself!
