How To Make A Crepe Paper Daisy
This paper daisy is perfect for the kiddos to do on their own. They can learn more about following instructions and how to piece things together, step by step.
Materials
- Crepe paper – white and yellow
- Pencil
- Craft glue
Tools
- Scissors
Instructions
- Grab the white and yellow crepe paper. The template includes 2 different sizes of daisy petals, select the one you want. Trace the petals on the white crepe paper and cut a strip from the yellow crepe paper. You will a total of 10 petals and 1 strip for each flower.
- Use scissors to cut small and even fringes along any one side of the yellow strip. Roll the closed end of the strip and glue the rolled piece at the end to secure it. This will be the center of the crepe paper daisy.
- Cut a 1 cm slit along the bottom middle part of each petal. Apply glue on either side of the slit and then overlap the slit slightly to join them together.
- Do the same for all 12 petals; this will give them a 3d look.
- Make a group of 5 petals, which will give us 2 groups. Join 5 petals together by overlapping their straight (slit) ends and forming a 5 petal flower pattern.
- Now join the two 5 petal flowers together, criss-cross wise to form the daisy petal pattern.
- Glue the centerpiece (the rolled yellow piece from step 2) on the center of the flower to complete the daisy craft.
