I absolutely love how these Easter Eggs turned out. They would make a great centerpiece for an easter dinner gathering or as an addition to an Easter basket.
Or sit them out on the coffee table to be admired by your guests. They are even inexpensive enough to make and give as gifts. There is quite a bit you can do with these.

Rae Dunn Easter Eggs Cricut Craft
This Rae Dunn Easter Egg Craft For Cricut is the perfect decor this easter. Follow this easy tutorial to make your own egg!
Materials
- Chalk Paint or matte paint (white)
- Ribbon of your choice (I’m using 7/8” in a gingham style)
- Transfer Tape
- Black Adhesive Vinyl
- Oversized egg
- Rae Dunn Easter Inspired Font
Tools
- Cricut Explore Air or other machine
- Blue light grip mat
- Weeding tool
- Scraper
- Paintbrush or sponge brush
- Hot glue gun and glue sticks
Instructions
- Paint the giant egg with white chalk paint or matte white paint. And set aside to dry about an hour or till no longer wet. You will need 2-3 coats until the original layer of the egg is no longer visible and it is opaque white.
- Decide on a font for your egg. If you didn't get it above already. In Cricut Design space prepare the design with the wording you want. Make sure to edit the text and adjust the phrase height to be approximately an inch to an inch and a half smaller than the size of your egg (the width will automatically adjust based on the length of the phrase chosen). Ex. 6-inch egg phrase height between 4.5-5 inches. If a 4-inch egg phrase height between 2.5-3 inches.
- Load the vinyl onto the light blue grip mat into the machine. Select the vinyl setting on your maker or adjust the dial on your air 2. Follow the prompts on the screen.
- After the vinyl has been cut, use your weeding tool and remove the excess vinyl around and inside letters.
- Cut off enough transfer tape and remove the carrier sheet. Lay the transfer paper onto of weeded vinyl and apply pressure with the scraper tool and old credit card running it back and forth. Flip the design face down and slowly remove the vinyl’s backing leaving the vinyl adhered to the transfer paper.
- Apply the vinyl attached to the transfer paper to the surface of the painted egg. Use the scraper tool once again to apply pressure and friction to the vinyl and remove the transfer paper off and away from the egg’s surface. The vinyl will remain and adhere to the egg. Remember the surface of the egg is curved. I find it easiest to apply working from the middle and then left to right and adhering one word at a time starting top to bottom.
- Add a pastel or Easter-themed ribbon and tie a bow using a hot glue gun to attach the ribbon on top of the egg and you’re finished!
- The best way to display these is to add your egg to a wood tray with some other decor items, maybe some Rae Dunn Pottery. Or you can even surround them with some dollar-store plastic eggs.
