These free printable reindeer food tags are perfect for a fun activity that you can do with your kids on Christmas Eve. You are going to be making jars of reindeer food that Santa can give to the reindeer to help them fly the sleigh.
This craft is really easy to make and won’t cost you very much. Apart from the glass jars, you might even already have most of the supplies you need at home.
The only other thing you need is the food tags, and I’ve got you covered with these free printable reindeer food tags that you can attach to the jars with ribbon or twine!
What do you leave for reindeer food?
We are always leaving Christmas cookies out for Santa Clause, but what about the reindeer? They need sustenance too! Flying that sleigh full of Christmas presents is hard work.
To leave the reindeer a treat they will love, make some magic reindeer food which you can leave in little jars for Santa Clause to take back to them.
You can also make reindeer food bags with a Ziploc bag if you don’t have any jars handy. (If you do this, leave all the bags in a bowl for Santa.)
Then, they can eat their treat on the lawn, roof, or wherever else Santa might park his sleigh. Don’t be surprised to find all the reindeer food completely gone on Christmas morning.
What is magic reindeer food made of?
The reindeer food recipe is very simple. The first ingredient is oats. Reindeer love the smell of oats, so make sure your magic food has lots of oats in it.
You will also need red, green, and white sprinkles. Make sure your stir these in well with the oats.
And the final ingredient you need is faux snow because reindeer are from the North Pole and love snow.
Can I put glitter in reindeer food?
Of course! Reindeer love glitter and sparkles. This will help Santa’s reindeer fly even higher and faster so that all the other kids can get their Christmas presents too.
