The Cricut joy is a cute little machine that packs a powerful punch. It may be small but it sure can get the job done quickly and easily. In this case, the job is the spice jar labels.

These labels will turn out so cute and add a little pizzazz to your home. You can slap a label on basically anything, including that jars that you can hold your spices in.

They are subtle but they do make a difference in making your home look and feel cozier. Choose colors that will pop in your kitchen or pantry, depending on where you put them.

The Cricut Joy really does make making these spice jar labels a lot easier than without it. With the free SVG file that also comes with the directions, you will be set on making your labels!

When you customize the jars and make them look cute, they will work perfectly as gifts to be given to your friends and family. You won’t be able to buy them anywhere else.

Easy Spice Jar Labels With Cricut Joy

The Cricut joy is a cute little machine that packs a powerful punch. It may be small but it sure can get the job done quickly and easily. In this case, the job is the spice jar labels. 


  1. Gather supplies.
  2. Thoroughly wash jars with soap and hot water and let them dry completely before using.
  3. Upload Lettered Herb SVG File into Design Space.  
  4. Click Ungroup.
  5. Click and drag over each of the words with the letter “i” separately. With the word highlighted, click on the “Attach” button to secure the dot over the letter i to the word. Choose which herb lettering you want to cut and hide the remaining words.
  6. Adjust image sizes to fit mason jars accordingly or maintain size as provided.  
  7. Color sync the images if needed to match the vinyl color.
  8. Make sure the machine is set to Cricut Joy and select “Make It” in Design Space.
  9. Choose “Without Mat” as the option for cutting when using Smart Vinyl.
  10. Set material type to Smart Vinyl.
  11. Follow prompts for loading the mat into the Cricut Joy and cutting the Smart Vinyl. When prompted, unload the vinyl from the cutting machine.
  12. Cut around each word with a pair of scissors. 
  13. Using the weeding tool, peel away the excess vinyl around the cut images and discard. 
  14. Cut a piece of transfer tape a bit larger than the size of the lettering. 
  15. Peel away the transfer tape backing and place the transfer tape over the top of the cut lettering. Gently rub the vinyl to help it stick to the transfer tape.
  16. Peel away the vinyl backing, leaving just the lettering adhered to the transfer tape.
  17. Position the word with the transfer tape on to the smooth side of a jar and press in place. 
  18. Press the vinyl image down with your fingers to help it stick to the glass jar.
  19. Slowly and carefully remove the transfer tape leaving the vinyl word on the jar.  
  20. Repeat for the other mason jars and herb lettering.
  21. To finish, fill the mason jars with dried herbs and tie a piece of twine around the jar lid.
