Opening Your Christmas Lights SVG File

In your downloads folder on your computer, locate the downloaded file and choose unzip in the file options.

Doing this will create a copy of the ZIP file that you can now open on your computer. (I usually delete the zipped folder once I’ve done this step to keep my computer clean, but this is optional.)

Once inside the zipped folder, you’ll find the following file types, which you can use in any cutting software:

    • SVG file
    • PNG file with a transparent background
    • DXF file
    • EPS file

What Cutting Machines Will This Design Work With?

This free download Christmas lights SVG vector file will work with any cutting machine you own.

For Cricut users, you can upload your Christmas Lights SVG design directly into Cricut Design Space to use with whatever Cricut cutting machine you have. This can include, but is not limited to, the Cricut Explore or Cricut Joy machines.

Discover endless creativity with the Cricut Venture! This new machine can do bulk printing and large-format projects all day long!

Silhouette users, you can upload your free SVG file into Silhouette Studio to use with whatever cutting machine you have, such as the Silhouette Cameo.

If you don’t have a cutting machine, you can also use these designs in design software such as Adobe Illustrator or Corel Draw and then print them out with your home printer. This means you’ll have to cut the design out by hand rather than having the machine do it for you.

How To Customize The Design Elements

Do you love this Christmas lights SVG design but want to change a few things, such as the color or font? Or perhaps you need to make the design bigger to work with the physical items you’re crafting with?

Well, no problem, because you have the file format you need to do this!

You only need to upload the SVG file into your chosen design software. Then, you’ll be able to change the colors, fonts, words, and size, all without ruining the quality of the design.

I recommend keeping the original version of these free files in your documents folder, too, in case you ever want to use or modify the original again.
