Cricut DIY Wall Decor

Some days are just hard. And sometimes you get to make something you can be really proud of. It’s nice having a reminder on the wall that you can be you and do you–and it’s good. It’s great.

So, I was making this pretty piece to join all the other creative DIY wall art ideas on my gallery wall of positive encouragement in my daughter’s room. She’s going to grow up with these words, helping her to define her place in the world.

And that is a truly beautiful thing.

Plus, this simple design goes with any decor style that you can imagine–it’s just a simple, elegant design that fits in any baby nursery or little girl’s room.

What You Need to Make this Cricut DIY Wall Decor

  • Squeegee/Scraper
  • Weeding Tool
  • Permanente Adhesive Vinyl

To make this without a Cricut, you just need a sheet of card stock paper.

How to Make this Cricut DIY Wall Decor

For Cutting Machines

Download and unzip the appropriate files, then load the SVG file into Cricut Design Space. Set the materials, pop the vinyl onto the cutting mat and cut the vinyl.

Fold or cut the colored cardstock while your vinyl is cutting. Pull the vinyl off the mat and weed out the voided areas. Cut a piece of transfer paper just large enough to cover your design and put the transfer paper over your design.

Remove any air between the design and the transfer paper with your scraper tool and then remove the paper backing. Place the design onto the glass on the frame, secure the middle then work on one side at a time to get the whole design down.

Again, use the scraper to transfer the vinyl from the transfer sheet onto the glass and peel the transfer tape off completely.

Repeat with each of the other panels and put your piece of art on the wall with your other wall decor ideas!
