Easy DIY Home Sign Table Decor
When you have guests at your house, they will notice your cute home decor sign. When they ask where you got it, you can brag a little bit about making it yourself.
Materials
- Embroidered Letters, White, 3" Varsity Style
- Wooden Houses, Four
- Spray Paint - Wood Tone
- HVAC Duct Sealing Tape, Silver
- Ribbon - Gingham, Black and White
- Paintbrush
- Chipboard
Tools
- Ruler
- Glue Gun and Glue Sticks
- Craft Knife
- Scissors
- Pencil
Instructions
- Gather all supplies. In a well-ventilated area (or outside) spray front and sides of four wooden house cut-outs with wood stain. Set aside to dry. Instead of spray paint, apply a watered-down dark brown craft paint to the unfinished wooden house shapes to obtain a stained effect.
- Once the spray paint is dry, peel liner paper from the back of the embroidered letters spelling HOME and apply to the wooden houses. The embroidered letters can be found in the wearables section of the craft store, but since they are peel and stick, you can use them on a variety of home décor projects as well.
- To create a roof, I measured the width and the pitch of the wooden houses, then cut four chipboard rectangles 3/4" by 5". Cover each piece with the HVAC foil tape folding over all edges. Silver Duck brand tape would work as well.
- Carefully bend each roof piece at the halfway mark and attach it to the house with a glue gun and glue sticks. Tie the black and white gingham ribbon into a bow and glue it to the center of the "O" in HOME.
