Dinosaur Craft

A preschool-dinosaur-craft that is great for boys and girls. Sit down on a rainy day, or do this craft in preschool or daycare. No matter what the occasion is, I think any little one will really enjoy this project.

What Type Of Paper Do I Need For This Dinosaur Craft

You will want a sturdier paper. Printer paper is to thin to hold up, you want to reach for a cardstock. You can buy it online or go to your local craft store or mass merchant. Find any colors you want. You will want at least 3-4 different colors. Having a variety of bold or even pastel colors will help set the dinosaur craft for preschool apart!

What To Do With The Dinosaurs Once Finished

Let your kiddos play with them! Whether they have a puppet show or just play with them at the table. It can bring hours of fun after. We made some the other day and they were so fun! Another fun paper craft for little ones to play with are these Pinwheels

Ways To Work With Your Child While Making These Dinosaurs

Colors

Take time to help teach your child what color is what. Ask them if they know and if they don’t share what color the paper is.

Shapes

You will use triangles and circles in this craft. It is a great time to introduce shapes to your preschooler if they don’t know them already. Help them learn that triangles have three points, and circles are round with no edges.

Cutting

Depending on your child’s age, you might be open to letting them use children scissors and try cutting out the shapes. They might need help and guidance but it is a great motor skill they can practice with this dinosaur craft for Preschool.

Talk About Dinosaurs

Sit down and talk about dinosaurs, the names of dinosaurs, different sizes, and so on. Help educate them how dinosaurs use to roam the earth years ago.

Glue Sticks

With a little help, you can teach them how to use a glue stick. It is learning to follow directions, and master their fine motor skills.

Can I Use Different Shapes For Spots On Dinosaur Craft For Preschool

Of course! You are welcome to hand cut out any shapes you want for your dinosaur. Let your children have options if you want. I just went with circles for the classic look. But feel free to have fun and make your dinosaurs unique to you.

What If I Don’t Have Googly Eyes

If you don’t have any googly eyes on hand, just use a marker or pen and draw on eyes. The googly eyes are fun, but not something that you have to have. You can buy them online at Amazon or stop in at your craft store and pick some up.
